Discovery Architectural Antiques stocks nearly everything imaginable that can be
salvaged from old homes and buildings including

Antique door hardware. Our inventory is housed in our Main Gallery along with other Historical buildings in Gonzales, Texas. We hope this web page will help give you some idea of
what we have but please realize, since we have well over a million items in
stock, it only shows a tiny sample of what we offer at any moment in time. No where else will you see such a full spectrum of
products with this variety of inventory at such reasonable prices.

We try to stock nearly everything from
flooring to bath tubs, from doorknobs to tin ceiling, and antique beams to
quality stained glass.
Watchdogs are on Duty 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. Meet Lola, Blondie and Nipsey our guard dogs.
The Largest of our 5 warehouse sites at 75,000 sq ft, it houses 5,000+ doors, 3,000+
mostly wavy glass windows, flooring, barn wood, siding, trim, 20+ foot long
beams, dimensional lumber, beaded wood,
ship lap, hand hewn beams, tubs, sinks, toilets, and bricks, clay roofing tiles, much more. 2 1/2 acre
site.
Warehouse #2 has the sawmill, the flooring machines, and large beams that we
cut up for flooring and custom beam sizes or dimensional lumber.
Warehouse #3
has beams as long as 40' and where we store sold merchandise until customers are
ready for delivery or pickup. We also store flooring we have pre-milled from the antique beams. Warehouse #4 is not shown but has more doors, sashes (new old stock 100 years
old but never installed), 100 years old wavy glass, textured glass, and 10,000
square feet of tin ceiling, antique cypress shutters, Walnut new old stock
spindles, iron fireplace fronts, and more tubs. Warehouses 5 and 6 are also not shown, but include more doors, cabinets, and other things that won't fit in the store.
Our Mission
To continue to maintain the biggest variety of architectural antiques, vintage woods, like Antique Long Leaf Pine, Antique
Doorknobs, hardware, stained glass, and beams in the Southern USA. We will continue to stock over a million
items and stay true to antiques instead of falling back to reproductions to fill
up our space. We promise fast response, good communication, and quality
products.

We are a family owned company that
was started in 1997 with the goal of providing a wide variety of old
house parts and pieces including nearly everything one would need to either
build a new house to look old or restore an old one.
Most of our customers are amazed
at how much inventory we have on hand by how well organized and clean we keep our main
showrooms. It is a sizable task given the scope of our operations. We aim to please and can
custom cut your antique beams, mill flooring to your specs or create trim and
frames for some of the 5,000 doors we keep in stock. No one else in Texas comes
anywhere close to having either the selection or the service that we have to
offer.
Suzanne Kittel, the owner, has had many years of experience specializing in brokering "Old Houses" as
well as revitalizing dozens of homes in Austin, Texas before relocating to Gonzales, Texas for a more centralized location to service the Central and Southern Texas areas

We are located in Gonzales,
Texas. (Directions) only 1 hour from Austin or San Antonio and 2 hours West of Houston. Please check
out current hours of operation before making a long trip to see us in case of a
change. Normally our hours are from 9am-5:30pm Tuesday through Saturdays. Please call ahead if you are working on a big project and
would like to block out some time for the royal tour.

Tiny Texas Houses was born from the vision of Brad Kittel. See Tiny Texas House page for more
pictures. These are made from 95% vintage materials, yet the
electric, plumbing, and insulation is new. The ultimate in Green
building and a home that will last another hundred years without the modern home
out gassing and environmental issues. "This is what you do for fun when you
get tired of just stacking up vintage lumber and Architectural Antiques", says Brad Kittel.
